From Emmy Award-winning executive producer and creator Seth MacFarlane (FAMILY GUY, “Ted”) and directed by Jon Favreau (“The Jungle Book,” “Iron Man”), THE ORVILLE is a one-hour science fiction series set 400 years in the future that follows the adventures of the U.S.S. Orville, a mid-level exploratory vessel. Its crew, both human and alien, faces the wonders and dangers of outer space, while also dealing with the familiar, often humorous problems of regular people in a workplace…even though some of those people are from other planets, and the workplace is a faster-than-light spaceship. In the 25th century, Earth is part of the Planetary Union, a far-reaching, advanced and mostly peaceful civilization with a fleet of 3,000 ships. Down on his luck after a bitter divorce, Planetary Union officer ED MERCER (MacFarlane) finally gets his chance to command one of these ships: the U.S.S. Orville. Determined to prove his worth and write a new chapter in his life, Ed finds that task all the more difficult when the First Officer assigned to his ship is his ex-wife, KELLY GRAYSON (Adrianne Palicki, “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “Friday Night Lights”). As the new commander, Ed assembles a qualified, but eccentric crew, including his best friend, GORDON MALLOY (Scott Grimes, “ER,” “Justified”), who has problems with authority, but is the best helmsman in the fleet; DR. CLAIRE FINN (Penny Johnson Jerald, “24,” “The Larry Sanders Show”), one of the Union’s most accomplished physicians; BORTUS (Peter Macon, “Shameless,” “Bosch”), an alien from a single-sex species; ISAAC (Mark Jackson, “That Royal Today”), an artificial life-form from a machine society that thinks biological life-forms are inferior; navigator JOHN LAMARR (J. Lee, FAMILY GUY, “The Cleveland Show”), whose casual humor cuts through even the most dire situations; ALARA KITAN (Halston Sage, “Neighbors,” “Goosebumps”), a young, inexperienced security officer whose home planet’s high gravity gives her superior physical strength; and YAPHIT, a gelatinous creature voiced by comedian Norm Macdonald (“The Middle,” “Saturday Night Live”). Somehow, Ed and Kelly must put the past behind them and, with the help of the crew, navigate fascinating and sometimes dangerous adventures in outer space, as well as the tumultuous and captivating day-to-day personal relationships with their colleagues.

Nick Thune and Halston Sage star in the dramedy, which also features an appearance by Usher, playing himself.
“I just signed up on the social medias,” says internet introvert Jed (played by comedian Nick Thune) in the trailer for People You May Know, which The Hollywood Reporter has an exclusive first look at.

The dramedy focuses on Jed as he is taken under the wing of Tasha (Halston Sage), who devises a plan to cultivate and craft Jed’s image, taking him from a regular guy to a cross-platform social media celebrity.

Things get complicated when he crosses paths with his high school crush (Kaily Smith Westbrook), with Jed having to figure out a way to bridge the gap between his true self and his new facade.

Ian Harding also stars in the movie, which features an appearance by Usher, playing himself.

People You May Know comes from first-time director Sherwin Shilati and will premiere at the San Francisco International Film Festival.

Halston Sage (Crisis) and Penny Johnson Jerald (Castle) have landed series-regular roles in Fox’s untitled live-action hourlong comedic drama created by and starring Seth MacFarlane. Jon Favreau is set to direct the first episode of the series, which is set in space 300 years in the future and follows the adventures of the Orville, a not-so-top-of-the-line exploratory ship in Earth’s interstellar fleet.

Character details for Sage and Johnson Jerald’s roles were not provided, as has been the case with other castmembers including Adrianne Palicki, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon and J Lee. Sage co-starred on the NBC series Crisis, and her recent film credits include Goosebumps, Paper Towns and Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse. Repped by CAA and manager Jason Weinberg, she next appears in the features You Get Me and Before I Fall. Johnson Jerald was a regular on Castle for four seasons, played Sherry Palmer on 24 and was the titular character’s personal assistant Beverly on The Larry Sanders Show, among many other TV credits. She is repped by Mitchell K. Stubbs & Associates.

Awesomeness Films’ Before I Fall, the film based on the bestselling YA novel by Lauren Oliver, will get a wide release theatrically by Open Road Films on April 7, 2017. Directed by Russo-Young, the film follows a young woman who has it all: the crush-worthy boyfriend, amazing best friends and drop dead gorgeous looks. One day is just another charmed one in Sam’s life until it turns out to be her last. Stuck reliving her last day during one inexplicable week, Sam untangles the mystery surrounding her death—and discovers the true value of everything she is in danger of losing.

With a screenplay by Maria Maggenti and produced by Brian Robbins, Matt Kaplan, and Jon Shestack, Before I Fall stars Zoey Deutch, Halston Sage, Kian Lawley, Logan Miller, Cynthy Wu, Elena Kampouris, Medalion Rahimi, and Jennifer Beals.

The film offers counter-programming in a weekend that will se the tentpole Furious 8 drop into theaters from Universal. Also scheduled in limited release from Fox Searchlight that same weekend is Gifted — a film in the vein of Kramer vs. Kramer directed by Marc Webb and starring Chris Evans, Lindsay Duncan and McKenna Grace.
